Introductory speech within presentation of Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Youth DP5YOU project (7.11.2025, online)

On November 7, 2025, the official presentation of the digital platform for the Erasmus+ project DP5YOU (Digital Platform of Knowledge and Skills Development for Youth Working with Child Migrants and Refugees at European Level) took place in Chernivtsi. This initiative, co-funded by the European Union, was hosted at the Chernivtsi City Council.

The event brought together over 70 participants, including representatives from NGOs, youth centers, educational institutions, and volunteers involved in supporting child migrants and refugees.

The session opened with welcoming remarks from local and national leaders:

  • Nataliia FRUNZE, Director of the Social Policy Department of the Chernivtsi City Council, emphasized the power of partnership and youth-led initiatives in community development.

  • Ihor BASKO, Head of the Youth Policy Department, highlighted the successful collaboration between the city and NGOs in implementing youth-focused projects.

  • Kateryna ZHDANOVA, Project Manager and Youth/Sport Coordinator at the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine, focused on the project’s implementation during current challenges and the vital role of digital tools in advancing youth work.

  • Dmytro IVANOV (Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine) and Mariia BASARABA presented national-level support for active youth and the growing capabilities of youth centers.

Yaroslav HALAN, Associate Professor and Head of the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE,” presented the platform’s core concept and functionality. He showcased the educational materials, video resources, and interactive tools designed for youth workers. He described #DP5YOU as a modern response to contemporary crises and an effective instrument for developing digital literacy among youth.

The event featured insights into the real-world needs of displaced children:

  • A representative from the “YaMariupol” Support Center in Chernivtsi shared the specific challenges faced by displaced youth.

  • Vadym SMINTINA, Coordinator from the National Agency for Youth Development of the Republic of Moldova, discussed cross-border cooperation and regional youth development.

The presentation concluded with an interactive session for experience sharing, the awarding of certificates, and the distribution of project-themed materials to the young participants.
